Atlanta, Ga. and Paris, France – July 7, 2009 – Internap Network Services Corporation (Nasdaq : INAP), a global provider of end-to-end Internet business solutions, announced today that its Flow Control Platform (FCP) is optimizing network service for Ecritel, a managed hosting and outsourcing company serving over 1,000 customers in France. The FCP is the foundation of a recent push by Ecritel to further enhance quality of service for its end-user customers. The purchase by Ecritel demonstrates an international application of Internap’s unique route control solutions.

Internap’s hardware enables network managers to balance needs to manage costs while deriving the best possible performance from their network options. “The FCP acts as a management tool for Ecritel – precisely measuring the quality of their IP traffic. In turn, that has enabled Ecritel to increase the number of transit providers and effectively make them compete with each other for the opportunity to provide transit services for target destinations such as Asia or South America,” said Christophe Doveil.

The Internap FCP provides network performance management and monitoring across multiple Internet connections. Without an FCP, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is often the default routing mechanism. BGP routes data over statically defined connections, which can result in poor performance. The FCP’s approach, leveraging Internap’s leadership as an IP networking pioneer, proactively monitors network connections, analyzes performance and dynamically routes traffic for maximum performance and cost-effectiveness. The Internap FCP can improve performance at an average of 20-50 percent and ensure network diversity in the event of a carrier outage or brownout, thereby improving the application user experience.
