Be concerned about our environment

EnvironnementAs part of its CSR policy, ECRITEL is continuously developing an environmental policy at all stages of its business, from its purchasing policy to the urbanization of data centers, including the monitoring of the KPIs of its rooms. ECRITEL is committed to reducing its energy consumption for supplying its servers and rooms :

  • Use of server components and servers with low power consumption; ;
  • Use of virtualized servers & disk arrays;
  • Urbanization of our rooms into cold corridors to optimize air flow and air conditioning;
  • Use of a quota of green electricity produced from a renewable energy source to supply its rooms;
  • Waste management in compliance with pollution control and recycling constraints;

One of the contributions which perfectly reflects our environmental concern is the installation of a Cold Corridor® for Ecritel: by generalizing the cooling system to all of this Cloud infrastructure, we obtain IT performance but also we reduce, in proportions not insignificant, the energy consumption of 15 to 20%.

Our purchasing policy

politique d'acahtEcritel integrates sustainable development issues into its purchasing policy, promoting responsible purchasing and paying particular attention to the selection and choice of suppliers

Eco-design, energy consumption, lifespan, labels, etc. are all criteria that are integrated into the purchasing policy of Ecritel, particularly when purchasing new equipment. Thus, in an approach in favor of extending the lifespan of equipment, Ecritel favors purchases with the longest warranty. The impact of transporting deliverables is also integrated, because we always choose a supplier that is as close as possible.

Our datacenters

Cold CorridorEcritel has chosen data centers that are also oriented towards sustainable development and its challenges, and whose IT policy is already geared towards an environmental commitment. Ecritel's data centers are always pushing back their commitment and working to constantly improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact by equipping rooms with the latest cutting-edge technologies and by monitoring indicators such as as PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness), CUE (Carbon Usage Effectiveness) and (WUE Water Usage Effectiveness).

Dematerialization

DématérialisationWe are acting in favor of increasing dematerialization. We exchange more and more with dematerialized documents to reduce our paper consumption.

Likewise, we do not hesitate to correspond with our subsidiaries abroad via web conferences for collaborative work that respects the environment.

By this process, we limit travel and the quality of relations between employees remains the same.

Recycling

Village LaafiWe recycle our user equipment and it started in partnership with other sponsors (Ile-de-France Region, EDF, Airbus…): we are supporting an association based in Koudougou in Burkina-Faso in the construction of a cultural center, the "Laafi Village".

Besides the library, the conference room and a stage, this village includes an internet room that we have equipped with our old equipment.

« Challenges of the business of the future are mainly based on the management of the ecological footprint and the consideration of sustainable development. Progress is possible every day, which is why we are committed to continuing our green initiatives. »
